Banksy Mobile Lovers $400,000 auction saves Bristol Youth centre

By John McCarthy A Bristol youth club, on the verge of closure, will survive after receiving a donation from the sale of a Banksy painting found outside the premises on a chunk of wood – after the piece sold for £403,000 at auction earlier this week. ‘Mobile Lovers’, a painting showing two lovers staring intently into their mobiles, instead of each others’ eyes, was found by the youth club’s owner Dennis Stinchcombe, MBE, in April. It was then seized by police, at the behest of Bristol Council which disputed Stinchcombe’s ownership – claiming he stole it from a public space. BSI digital transaction kitemark could mean 'apps will become over-protected' - says Mark Roy, CEO of the Data Agency

By John McCarthy The British Standards Institution’s (BSI) new kitemark for online transactions could restore consumer trust in brands but will users off online shopping if its security measures are too vigorous warned Mark Roy, CEO of the Data Agency. The kitemark, which is currently being piloted in the banking sector with Barclay’s Pingit service, was announced on Wednesday morning, with the intention of commending companies that handle consumer data the most securely – protecting personal and financial information from would-be hackers. Future Publishing creates private global programmatic ad exchange with Rubicon Project

By Jessica Davies Future Publishing, owner of titles including Total Film, T3, and Tech Radar, has partnered with real-time trading platform Rubicon Project to launch its first global, private programmatic marketplace. The move will see the publisher’s inventory from all its brands, which boast a combined 50 million monthly online and mobile viewers globally, made available to all 100,000 of its advertisers through a single, standardised platform via real-time bidding (RTB).
