Apple has announced the date of its San Francisco launch event for its first foray into the wearable tech industry, the Apple Watch.

On Monday 9 March, Apple will unveil to the international media – and the public – its first truly new technology following the death of Steve Jobs.

With Tim Cook previously admitting the device will be available to the public by April, it’s looking that the smartwatches may just see a launch for the end of March, following the event.
