Pinterest has outlined a number of goals it plans to meet by 2016 in order to make the company more diverse.
The initiatives include: increasing hiring rates for full-time engineering roles to 30 per cent female and 8 per cent minorities, increasing hiring rates for non-engineering roles to 12 per cent underrepresented ethnic backgrounds, and implementing a requirement where at least one female and one minority are interviewed for every open leadership position.
The company announced its plans in a blog post in an effort to go on record with its hiring goals.
