APAC Creative Work of the Week: 'Touchable Ink' by J. Walter Thompson

J. Walter Thompson Bangkok, in collaboration with Samsung and the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science and Technology, Thammasat University in Thailand, has created a tactile ink it hopes will improve the ability of visually impaired people to read printed items.

The invention is now being test-printed for the Thailand Association for the Blind and, if successful, could be used by printers to make products and packaging are more accessible for the blind.

According to J. Walter Thompson, the project grew out of research into the needs of visually impaired people carried out between the agency’s creative and research department.
