The Argentina football team (AFA) has today (2 June) joined Twitter for the first time, just 11 days before the 2014 Fifa World Cup kicks off in Brazil.
The team already has an established Facebook page, which has but is no doubt looking to further capitalise on the conversation surrounding the tournament which begins on 13 June with a Mexico vs Cameroon match.
So far the account has racked up almost 15,000 followers, with the first (translated) tweet reading: “Welcome to the official account of the AFA to accompany the team in Brazil. World We Live Together!”
