BSI digital transaction kitemark could mean 'apps will become over-protected' - says Mark Roy, CEO of the Data Agency

The British Standards Institution’s (BSI) new kitemark for online transactions could restore consumer trust in brands but will users off online shopping if its security measures are too vigorous warned Mark Roy, CEO of the Data Agency.

The kitemark, which is currently being piloted in the banking sector with Barclay’s Pingit service, was announced on Wednesday morning, with the intention of commending companies that handle consumer data the most securely – protecting personal and financial information from would-be hackers.
