Google is reportedly poised to unveil a new television set-top box later today at its annual I/O developer’s conference in San Francisco.
Reports in the Wall Street Journal suggest that the device will run a variation of its Android operating system and be built by a third party, offering a simplified smart TV viewing experience.
Rumoured to provide access to a range of Android games as well as on-demand television and movie content the Android TV system is said to be lined up for a debut alongside a preview of the company’s first Android Wear devices.
