Twitter announces new Facebook-style page layout, with a header, pinned tweets and filters

Take a look at the new Twitter layout, being rolled out to users from today.

Bearing a striking similarity to a Facebook page, a header picture on the desktop version of Twitter tops the page before a smaller picture appears in the bottom left hand corner.

As reported over the weekend, Twitter is also rolling out the use of pinned tweets for users, allowing an important message to stay at the top of a user’s stream.
