Amazon has joined the chat bot acquisition frenzy with the purchase of Angel.ai, recruiting co-founder and CEO Navid Hadzaad as head of new bot products in the process.

Following hot on the hells of Google’s purchase of API.ai Amazon’s move will see several other Angel.ai employees join Amazon to help smooth the integration of its technology and data.

Angel.ai originally launched as GoButler, a virtual assistant that let people request anything on-demand, but subsequently morphed into a natural language processing technology licensed to third parties.
