Apple promotes Jeff Williams to chief operating officer, hires Grey CCO Tor Myhren as VP of marketing

Apple has promoted Jeff Williams to chief operating officer, a role that has been empty since Tim Cook became CEO four years ago.
Tor Myhren, Grey Worldwide chief creative officer and president of its New York shop, is joining Apple as vice president of marketing and communications where he will be responsible for its advertising efforts.
Williams joined the company in 1998 and has most recently been in charge of overseeing its supply chain as well as the Apple Watch.
Of his appointment, Cook said: “Jeff is hands-down the best operations executive I’ve ever worked with.”
