BitTorrent hunts for a news editor as reports emerge that it's assembling a live news channel

Peer-to-peer (P2P) network BitTorrent is among the slew of companies making an unexpected pivot into the media scene, announcing it is to launch a TV news channel.

The system has its own live-streaming app, with channels including FightBox, Newsmax TV, Heroes TV, TWiT and Clubbing TV, on Apple TV (with supposed iOS and Android apps to follow). It is considering the launch of a dedicated news source in time for the US election, according to Variety.
