Donald Trump turns to Periscope and Facebook to boost presidential hopes

Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump has turned to Twitter-owned social media live video streaming platform Periscope to boost his engagement with voters.

Trump, who has over 160,000 followers on Periscope, and over 5 million on Twitter, sat at his desk from Trump Tower in New York and answered questions from viewers and said that he planned to do the chat regularly on a Wednesday through Facebook as well, but that on this occasion the platform was experiencing “technical difficulties.”
