EU referendum campaigns brought to a halt for a second day by Labour MP’s murder

Both sides of Britain’s EU referendum debate are to halt campaigning for a second day following the brutal murder of Labour MP Jo Cox by a constituent.

Cox had been a prominent proponent of the UK remaining as a member of the European Union and her murder has shocked both sides in the debate, prompting the suspension of public engagements, opinion polls, televised debates and even the publication of an official report by the International Monetary Fund.
