A father has defended his decision to live-stream the birth of his child on Facebook by insisting that he was seeking to share ‘the gift of life’ after coming under fire from critics.

Fakamalo Kihe Eiki, from California, logged into Facebook Live for the important moment on Monday morning alongside the comment ‘Thanks guys for enjoying the gift of life with me … lol come celebrate next weekend bbq if in area’ and swiftly garnered some 90,000 views.
