Films account for only 11 per cent of social media conversations during Oscars

Out of the more than 440,000 mentions online around the 2015 Oscars, only 11.2 per cent were focused on the actual films, according to global social intelligence platform Synthesio.
While 67.4 per cent of the conversations revolved around the awards show itself, 17.5 per cent were about the actors and 3.9 per cent were about host Neil Patrick Harris.
Leah Pope, vice president of global marketing for Synthesio, said in a statement that she thinks it’s “quite shocking how little of the conversation revolves around the movies themselves”.
