Five leading broadcast TV groups band together to make local news available anytime, anywhere
With so many ways to obtain news now, it is surprising that local TV stations continue to be the go-to source for Americans (“Local News in a Digital Age,” Pew Research Center).
To make local news more accessible, The ABC Owned Television Station Group, Cox Media Group, Hearst Television, Media General and Raycom Media, five of the largest broadcast TV groups, announced yesterday the creation of NewsON.
NewsON will be available through connected TV and mobile apps, and will feature live and on demand local news broadcasts from 112 participating stations in 84 viewing markets across the country.
