Ford in the driving seat for Google’s driverless car tech

Auto giant Ford is reportedly in talks with Google over the prospect of it mass producing the internet giant’s much touted driverless car, which is still at the prototype stage.

A joint effort between the two isn’t beyond the bounds of possibility with former Ford chief Alan Mulally sitting on Google’s board of directors.

Such a move also makes financial and logistical sense with Ford gaining access to Google’s bleeding edge tech for use in its own vehicles and Google gaining access to Ford’s massive manufacturing clout.
