Google self driving car to include steering wheel after all
Google’s self driving cars will come with a steering wheel, acceleration and brake pedals after all in order that the cars meet road safety requirements.
Ahead of the vehicles being publicly tested in the US, the Californian Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) will introduce new rules that make it clear that the driver of every car must have full control over it.
The self driving cars will now need to include both control functions to allow their drivers to take control should needs be, despite Google having previously designed the vehicles to feature neither, which were seen as unnecessary parts. Read full story ›
