Google underlines its open principles with AMP scheme aimed at reducing publishers' costs

Google has unveiled an open source initiative aimed at helping publishers improve how rich media content, incuding ads, performs on mobile devices in a move that counters Apple News and Facebook Instant Articles.

The open source scheme – dubbed Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) – forms part of the online advertising giant’s earlier announced Digital News Initiative with media owners, including the BBC, the Guardian and El Pais, as well as Twitter, plus others all on board.
