Google’s Martijn Bertisen urges retailers to adopt a “fail fast” mindset

“Dare to think bigger, be braver and fail fast,” Google’s UK retail director, Martijn Bertisen has urged retailers.

Retailers are at a crossroads, according to Bertisen, as consumers rapidly continue to adopt new technologies and change their purchase behaviours faster than they can keep up with.

He believes the key to success is “understanding the context of the individual and the circumstances in which they are requesting information and proactively providing that to them instead of trying to respond to demand”.
