Great British Bake Off heats up with 170 per cent more tweets than last series

Fans have tweeted more during the current season of the Great British Bake Off with almost a million tweets, up 170 per cent on the 2013 series.

MHP Communications analysed the tweeting patterns of viewers on the eve of the final, with this year’s show taking in 998,500 tweets, up from 370,000 in 2013.

Furthermore, almost 200,000 pictures regarding the show have been shared, showing that the public was engaged with the cake-making process the competition prides itself on.
