Half of UK ad spend forecast to be through mobile and desktop by 2016 predicts ZenithOptimedia

The World Cup is set to help the UK advertising market grow by 5.8 per cent to £13.7bn, with mobile advertising the largest growth sector, reaching £1.3bn and desktop and mobile forecast to count for half of UK ad spend by 2016, according to the first ZenithOptimedia UK Advertising Expenditure Forecast.

The advertising market will also be aided by economic recovery of 1.8 per cent, while the rise in mobile technology and programmatic buying are also aiding longer term growth, while the UK will also outpace average world growth in spend of 5.3 per cent.
