Hilton’s hotels admitted that its payment system was compromised with hackers gathering a wealth of financial details which could facilitate fraud.

The global hotel group has urged any of its customers in the last 12 months to monitor their monthly statement to gather whether or not their accounts have been compromised after the Hilton’s point-of-sale (PoS) terminals were infiltrated by malware.

An unverified number of customers’ details, including cardholder names, payment card numbers, security codes and expiry dates, were leaked in the breach although vital info such as home addresses and card pin numbers remained safe.
