ITV is expected to unveil BBC star Susanna Reid as its new breakfast host next week.

According to the Sunday People, Reid has been handed a £1m deal to defect from the BBC Breakfast sofa and head up a new programme for ITV, rumoured to be named Good Morning Britain.

The presenter’s popularity has soared after her appearance on last year’s Strictly Come Dancing, and she is credited with lifting BBC Breakfast’s ratings from 1.3m to 1.6m.
