John Lewis unveils Christmas ad customers ‘have been dreaming of’

John Lewis’ 2014 Christmas campaign features the story of a young boy, Sam, and his penguin friend Monty.

Launching online today (6 November) the ad, created by Adam+EveDDB, features Sam, who brings his favourite toy Monty to life using his imagination. Set to the John Lennon track “Real Love”, sung by Tom Odell, the spot shows the pair playing together throughout the year.

However as winter approaches Monty becomes sad as he longs for a companion. Come Christmas Day, Sam gives Monty the present he has been dreaming of – a female penguin called Mabel.
