The Golden Globes kicked off awards season in style last night, amassing 242,000 mentions and counting on Twitter.
Leonardo DiCaprio may have scooped the Best Actor gong for his role in Alejandro González Iñárritu’s The Revenant, but he was also the winner on social – clocking up the most mentions on Twitter with over 13,000 posts directed towards him.
Data from social analytics platform Brandwatch shows that DiCaprio pipped fellow actors Lady Gaga and Sylvester Stallone to the post in terms of tweets, with his win acknowledged as the biggest moment of the award show.
