Professional networking site LinkedIn has revealed it has now signed up 20 million members in the UK bringing the platforms reach to close to half of the country’s working population.

The milestone was breached following a surge in new sign-ups over the course of 2015 with 2m new users registering for the platform. Indeed the social media site has enjoyed steady growth since 2009 having gained some 17m members.

Henry Clifford-Jones, LinkedIn’s UK director of marketing solutions, said: “At LinkedIn we are delighted and humbled that more than 20 million professionals are now using LinkedIn in the UK.
