Lizzie Yarnold's Gold medal win generates 6,280 tweets per minute, the fourth highest Games-related spike so far

As Lizzie Yarnold took home TeamGB’s first Gold of the Sochi Winter Olympics last night, tweets about the victory peaked at 6,280 per minutes, marking the highest spike of Games-related tweets on Friday and the fourth-highest spike of the Games so far.

Twitter recorded the peak of activity shortly after Yarnold’s win in the Skeleton at 5:32pm, with the sports star garnering more than 55,000 mentions on Twitter in the last 24 hours.
