Manchester chosen for Tech North start-up hub

The government is seeking to emulate the success of London’s Tech City with the announcement of a second technology start-up hub in Manchester, Tech North.
With public backing the body will invest in promising start-up businesses and ideas with a view to fostering an entrepreneurial environment within the city’s hip Northern Quarter.
Part of a new strategy of developing technology clusters around the UK the move is seen as a way of spreading economic growth out from London and the south east.
