Microsoft aborts Nokia phone business with 7,800 job losses
Microsoft has announced it is shedding nearly 8,000 jobs worldwide primarily from its mobile and devices sector.
After snagging the department from Nokia for a considerable $7.2bn in April 2014, Microsoft has effectively written off the sector with a large chunk of the cuts to focus instead on its delivery of operating system Windows 10 across all devices.
