Microsoft takes Google Chrome down a peg as study claims it drains more battery than Edge

Microsoft is looking to make up some ground in the web browser war, bringing into question the efficiency of Google Chrome in a recent study.

Looking to give the edge to its browser Edge, Microsoft tested rival web browsers on its hardware, the Surface Book, to benchmark power consumption.

Microsoft Edge, Chrome, Firefox, and Opera were tested with basic activities such as opening websites, scrolling through articles, and watching videos, opening new tabs across the likes of Facebook, Google, YouTube, Amazon, Wikipedia and more.
