“Most marketable athlete in UK” Mark Cavendish out of Tour de France
Mark Cavendish, who cycles for the Omega Pharma team, is out of Tour de France following the shoulder injury he suffered in the first stage.
The cyclist, who was been described as one of the “most marketable athletes in the UK” by the Sunday Times, has deals with Oakley, Jaguar and Nike, none of which have made a statement about Cavendish leaving the race at time of writing.
The Omega Pharma company said that he showed “great team spirit” by turning up.
