At the Summit on Cybersecurity and Consumer Protection held at Stanford University, President Obama signed an executive order to encourage the private sector to share information involving threats to cyber security with the federal government.

Held in Silicon Valley, the summit brought together industry and tech leaders, law enforcement, consumer and privacy advocates, as well as professors to explore partnerships that can help find ways to improve cybersecurity.

President Obama said: “There’s only one way to defend America from these cyber threats, and that is through government and industry working together, sharing appropriate information as true partners,” reported The Washington Post.
