The Drum celebrated its annual Online Media Awards last night (7 June), with Quartz taking home the Chairman’s award for a combination of ‘beautiful design’, ‘thought-provoking content’ and effective distribution across third parties.

The Online Media Awards, now in its sixth year, identify the cleverest, boldest and most original purveyors of news and views from around the world.

Al Jazeera English swept the board, with its online site chosen as the Best Website of the Year, and senior editor of digital video Yasir Khan chosen as Online Editor of the Year.
