Russian Prime Minister’s Twitter account hacked by group who also claims to have iPhone control

The Twitter account of Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has been hacked by collective Shaltay-Boltay (Humpty Dumpty), which also claims to have control over his Gmail account and iPhone.

The collective tweeted a resignation from Medvedev’s account which read “I resign. I am ashamed of the government’s actions. I’m sorry.”

While the English account does not seem to have been affected, the account in Russian has also seen tweets suggesting that Vladimir Putin is “wrong” and that electricity should be banned, while adding that Medvedev would be taking up a new role as a freelance photographer.

The Russian government has confirmed the hack.
