Apprentice star and West Ham vice chairman Karren Brady has been appointed by X Factor mogul Simon Cowell as a non-executive director of his company SyCo.

According to reports Cowell’s close friend and Arcadia Group CEO, Sir Philip Green, helped mastermind the deal which sees Brady take on a part-time paid role at the company.

Speaking to the Sunday People, a SyCo source said Cowell holds the Apprentice mentor in “high esteem” and is someone he “trusts to come up with ways of building is company”.
