Sky News Australia journalist Vanessa Trezise has been left red-faced after mixing up Sir Keith Richards and Sir Cliff Richards in a breaking news tweet following a police raid on the latter stars home.

As detectives moved on Sir Cliff’s Berkshire penthouse in pursuit of evidence pertaining to the abuse of a boy in 1985 it fell to Trezise to communicate the news to Australians on social media.

In a hastily deleted tweet she wrote: “Coming up @ SkyNewsAust reporter Martin Brunt with the latest on a police search of Sir Keith Richards home over alleged sex offences.”
