Sony attempts to trademark 'Let's Play'

Sony has filed a trademark with the US Patent Trademark office for the term ‘Let’s Play’.

The trademark entry was discovered by users on NeoGaf following a registration attempt by parent company Sony Computer Entertainment America last October which, according to the application, wants to cover the “electronic transmission and streaming of video games via global and local computer networks; streaming of audio, visual, and audiovisual material via global and local computer networks.”

However, Trademarkia.com reveals Sony has yet to be granted copyright of the term as the office continues investigations into its intended use.
