Starbucks marketing offensive pays off as it turns first UK profit in 17 years
Starbucks’ UK business has turned a profit for the first time in almost two decades following a strategy overhaul to focus on driving engagement with customers.
It made a pre-tax profit of £1.05m in the year to September 2014, compared with a £20.5m loss the previous year. Gross profit for the year to 28 September 2014 rose 24 per cent to £98.8m.
UK boss Mark Fox credited the turnaround to its renewed focus, calling it a milestone moment for the business.
