Target offers store credits in return for unwanted clothing

Fashion retailer Target has introduced an innovative new scheme to encourage the recycling of old clothes, by offering customers store credits in exchange for unwanted garments.

Working in partnership with second hand clothing specialists thredUP the retailer is trialing a system in Minneapolis whereby surplus clothing can be handed over in-store or mailed in directly. Once received Target will calculate a value for the goods based on the cost price, brands and condition.
