Tower of London ceramic poppies top Remembrance Day mentions

Over 6,900 mentions of the ceramic poppies at the Tower of London were generated by Remembrance Sunday, social media analytics by Crimson Hexagon has found.

A total of 232,697 tweets over the last month mentioned Remembrance Day (11 November), with 2014 marking 100 years since the start of the First World War.

With almost 7,000 mentions of #towerpoppies, it is no surprise that the most retweeted photos both related to the Tower of London, coming from @WW1Statistics and @rich_thomo.
