Turkish women take to Twitter to campaign against sexual violence

Turkish women are taking a campaign against violence to Twitter amidst widespread public outrage at the murder of a 20-year old student, killed whilst resisting a rape attempt.
Dozens of rallies have taken place across the nation in memory of Özgecan Aslan with an #Özgecaniçinsiyahgiy (wear black for Ozgecan hashtag trending on twitter) amidst wider debate on violence directed against women in the country.
According to campaigners incidents are increasing amidst Islamist government rhetoric with an average of five women killed every day.
