Vodafone ends Phones 4U agreement, joining O2 and Three in leaving the retailer

Network provider Vodafone has dumped distributor Phones 4u after announcing it will instead focus on its relationship with the newly merged Dixons Carphone.

Vodafone, which has been deemed the UK’s worst major operator in two separate studies by Ofcom and Rootmetrics, on Monday canceled the agreement, which will now expire in February 2015.

This is despite Phones 4u claiming that it sold 430,000 contracts for Vodafone in the year starting July 2013, accounting for 27 per cent of the retailer’s total sales – worth around £18.5m.
