Wearables market set for take-off with 213.6m shipments forecast for 2020

A new survey of the future growth prospects in the wearables market has painted a picture of an industry in rude health with shipments set to reach 213.6m globally by 2020 – more than double their current level.
Research firm IDC, which compiled the figures, reckons that the sector is in line for robust growth courtesy of a burgeoning of different form factors such as eyewear and clothing, as smartphones reach saturation point.
