Yahoo buys video-ad platform Brightroll for $640 million

Yahoo is to buy video-advertising platform BrightRoll for about $640 million in cash, Bloomberg reports . The deal, expected to close early next year will “dramatically strengthen Yahoo’s video-advertising platform, making it the largest in the U.S.,” Yahoo claimed .

According to Yahoo, BrightRoll serves 87 of Ad Age’s Top 100 U.S. advertisers. BrightRoll is expected to have revenue of more than $100 million for this year.
