YouTube advertisers surge by 40% as brands target millenials

Google owned video sharing platform YouTube has seen the number of advertisers on the platform surge by 40 per cent over the year in a phenomenon being driven by brands seeking out millennial consumers.

YouTube has been bolstered by shifting advertising trends with brands increasingly prioritising digital video advertising as the surest way of grabbing the attention of 18-34 year-olds.

The video streaming service is now a significant cash generator for Google, which described YouTube as a highlight of its financial position in an earnings call last week.
