BBC Trust to investigate salary demands of Jeremy Clarkson & Graham Norton

By John Glenday The BBC is moving to clampdown on the costs incurred through the wage bill of some of its highest paid presenters; including Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson and Graham Norton, presenter of the eponymous show. A review conducted by the BBC Trust later this year will look at how these costs stack up against commercial rivals in a bid to find ways of reducing the £200m in pay it dishes out to its biggest stars. Tesco sees 6% drop in profit, but a follow up to the Hudl is on its way

By Jennifer Faull Tesco has reported a six per cent fall in group trading annual profit to £3.3bn, the second consecutive year that it has announced such a decline. The supermarket chain’s preliminary results for the last year also revealed a decline in UK sales by 0.1 per cent to just over £48bn while UK trading profit declined by 3.6 per cent to £2,191m. Telefonica to “shake up” programmatic market with launch of first mobile-only ad exchange

By Jessica Davies Telefonica is poised to shake up the programmatic market with the launch of its first mobile-only advertising exchange – the first from a mobile operator. The platform, which is joint-funded by Telefonica and affiliates of Blackstone’s GSO Capital Partners, will be run out of a newly formed, London-based company called Axonix. This will be run independently of Telefonica, spearheaded by Simon Birkenhead (pictured right), who has left his role as Telefónica’s director of global advertising sales. Honda tops list for creating most viral car brand video ads in UK - watch the top 10 here
