Global Radio records highest ever audience while Bauer crosses 50% digital listeners line in RAJAR Q2 figures

By Angela Haggerty Global Radio recorded its highest ever audience figure at 23.2 million per week in Q2 of 2014, latest RAJAR figures show, while Bauer Radio recorded more than half (50.8 per cent) of its listening via digital channels. Global Radio’s Capital London recorded more than a quarter of a million more listeners in the last three months, taking the station to a reach of 2.2 million, while the station’s breakfast show with Dave Berry and Lisa Snowden pulled in nearly 200,000 more listeners, taking its audience share from 4.5 per cent to 5.2 per cent. Engine Group UK CEO Debbie Klein stresses importance of retaining ‘independence’ following £100m Lake Capital buyout and outlines future road map

By Jessica Davies Engine UK’s chief executive Debbie Klein has stressed that the agency group will retain its independence following its £100m buyout by private equity firm Lake Capital. The move will see Engine work closely alongside Lake Capital’s two other marketing services companies – entertainment and content marketing agency Trailer Parks and global market research and business intelligence firm ORC, which will result in a “new breed” of agency that will in total command $400m (£237m) in revenue – 60 per cent of which will be generated from digital. Edelman China CEO out of Beijing office for a week 'helping authorities'

By Noel Young The CEO of PR giant Edelman’s China holding company has been asked to “cooperate” with Chinese authorities leading an investigation, a top executive said Wednesday. Steven Cao, CEO of the Daniel J. Edelman China Group, has not reported to work for over a week, AdAge reported. David Brain, president and CEO of Edelman’s Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa business said authorities visited one of the company’s subsidiaries in Beijing on July 24 to request help with the probe. YouTube star DeLaGhetto surprises parents with touching mortgage payment video

By John McCarthy YouTube personality Timothy DeLaGhetto released an tear-jerking video earlier this week in which he rewarded his parents’ kindness and support by providing them with a cheque for $210,000 to pay off their mortgage. The rapper and funnyman, whose YouTube channel has over 2.4m subscribers, dropped out of college to try his hand at becoming a digital entertainer.
