Bauer Bauer Media has appointed Morgan Rees editor-in-chief of its flagship film brand Empire magazine, following the departure of Mark Dinning, who left Bauer Media in August to join Time Out Dubai as editor. Game declares Christmas 'Game season' in animated TV spot from 101

By Gillian West Computer games retailer Game is gearing up for Christmas with an animated TV spot created by 101. Introducing the ‘It’s Game season’ tagline, the first ad from the series debuted last night (Thursday 30 October) and, according to Fred Prego, Game’s insight and marketing director, attempts to capture “some of the excitement we feel when compiling our own personal wish lists”. AOL and MCN unite to pilot private programmatic marketplace for trading linear TV advertising

By Jessica Davies AOL Platforms and Australian TV network Multi Channel Network (MCN) have struck a deal to pilot an integrated, private programmatic marketplace for TV advertising. The partnership, which the companies have claimed is a first for the media industry, will mean advertisers and agencies can run targeted, data-driven audience buying across 70 subscription TV channels including BBC, Fox Sports, Sky News, NBC Universal and Viacom. Ad of the Day: Skol - Underwater Bar

By Staff Writer This accomplished-looking spot for Skol is set in an underwater bar with a house DJ and sharks on leashes. The premise is that the ad reflects the drink’s strapline: “Blue on the outside, mysterious on the inside”; and it’s done a great job of visually interpreting this. Mixing scenes overtly filmed in water with others that are more ambiguous, it creates an otherwordly environment with a very earthy atmosphere.
