TfL unveils Santander Cycles as London bids farewell to ‘Boris Bikes’

By Thomas Hobbs The partnership will see new services, including a world-first Santander Cycles app, which will make it more easy to locate and book a bike, as well as substantial rebranding. The new red-and-white livery of the 11,500 bikes, 748 docking stations and 32 service vehicles will also accompany a rebrand of staff uniforms and bike membership keys. The red colours fitting nicely with the city’s buses and postboxes. The Spanish bank takes over sponsorship of the cycle hire scheme from Barclays, which decided to cut short rather than pursue the deal until 2018. Bupa partners with Age UK for £1m charity drive

By John Glenday Private healthcare provider Bupa has chosen Age UK as its partner for a £1m charity drive over the next two years in support of older people. Cash raised will be directed toward supporting and empowering the elderly to live well through the financing of advice centres and call centre staff. Bupa staff will also volunteer for lunch clubs, exercise classes and befriending scheme organised by Age UK; including 10k and 2k series of running events, The Big Knit and The Big Chinwag.
